Doris Bircham has been partnered with the same man, same ranch, same prairie wind forever. In the Cypress Hills of Saskatchewan she and Ralph (Jack) raised a son and a daughter who are both married and ranching with their families in the southwest. She has been an organizer and performer at the Maple Creek Cowboy Poetry Gathering & Western Art Show for the past 15 years. She treasures the friendships she has made through writing and reciting. I just want to make enough money to support my habit, she says. |
