Doug Cuthand

Doug Cuthand is an independent producer, director, writer and journalist whose career has spanned over 20 years. His book Askiwina: A Cree Story was shortlisted at the Saskatchewan Book Awards. His work has been recognized and honoured by the regional, national and international media industry.

Cuthand’s  film and videos have been featured by National Film Board, aired on CBC and local and independent television stations too numerous to mention. They have also won awards from the American Indian Film Festival, The Geminis, Saskatchewan Motion Picture Association and the Columbus International Film and Video Festival.

Weekly columns in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix, the Regina Leader Post and features in the Winnipeg Free Press, have made Mr. Cuthand a respected voice for the aboriginal community. In addition to his work as a producer and writer, Dough Cuthand is also the chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Little Pine First Nation.
