Leslie Greentree was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and has lived in various parts of British Columbia and Alberta. She has published two books of poetry: guys named Bill (Frontenac House, 2002) and go-go dancing for Elvis (Frontenac House, 2003). She has just been shortlisted for the Griffin Prize for Poetry. The price of attaining her dream of being published was that some of the Bills no longer speak to her. That’s OK, though, because Elvis still does. Leslie works at Red Deer Public Library as the Marketing and Information Services Assistant. Greentree was recently the regional winner for Calgary in the CBC Poetry Face-Off, which made her dog Mickey very, very proud. She attends a lot of wine tastings, and does the odd bit of freelance writing to support both that and Mickey’s milkbone habit. |
