has been shortlisted for the 2008 Commonwealth Prize. Her first novel, Deafening, won a 2004 Commonwealth Prize, was chosen for
CBC’s
Canada Reads (English & French), was shortlisted for the 2005
IMPAC Dublin International Literary Award, won the 2007
Kingston
Reads Award and was named 2004-05 College Book of the Year by
Grant MacEwan College in
