Mission Statement

Festival of Words is a registered non-profit organization established by volunteers interested in creating and promoting programs that celebrate, in various formats, the imaginative uses of words, oral and written, English as well as other languages, to entertain and enlighten readers and listeners. 

Objectives

1. Provide stimulating experiences in the imaginative uses of language

2. Appeal to a wide variety of ages, interests and tastes with written and non-written uses of language including fiction, poetry, nonfiction, editing, publishing, song, drama, and other artistic forms related to these genres

3. Provide educational reading-related experiences for children and youth

4. Create opportunities for established and beginning writers and, where possible, artists in other fields

5. Promote lifelong reading, literacy and imaginative writing.

6. Promote Moose Jaw as a destination and thriving cultural centre.
