Master Class for Poets
Date: Thursday 20 July 2006 10:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m.

Description: This round-table class will offer participants the
opportunity to workshop their work in progress with the group, discuss
poetic techniques and philosophies, and challenge their attention and
creativity through writing exercises. Participants should leave the
workshop with greater confidence in their self-editing skills and a
broader sense of the possibilities of poetry.
This workshop is intended for writers who have published at least one
book through a literary press (not counting self-published or chap
books) or who have at least 10 poems published in referreed literary
journals. Please list publishing credits in the cover letter
accompanying your payment.
Participants should submit 2-5 poems to the SWG office no later than
4:30 p.m. on Friday 14 July 2006.
Fees: $85 for Guild members; $100 for non-members
Class minimum: 8; Class maximum: 10
Registrations must be received in the office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday 14
July 2006. The SWG is prepared to cover the registration fee for one
member to offset travel expenses and/or financial need.
