In 1984, Tom joined CBC Radio in La Ronge, as host of Keewatin Country, broadcasting in Cree and English with particular attention to the rapidly changing aboriginal political scene in the province and across the country. Combine this information with a mix of news, weather, road information, and music, and you have a captivating hour of radio weekdays from 12 to 1 p.m. Outdoorsman Tom loves boating and fishing in the summer; and snowmobiling in the winter. |

Storyteller
Tom Roberts, was born in Stanley Mission, SK, and went to the
residential school in Prince Albert from the age of eight, until he was
sixteen years old. In 1974 he started broadcasting on "northern
news", a radio program designed for northern Trappers. He later
took journalism training at Grant MacEwan Community College, where he
received a Certificate in broadcasting and video.
