Candace Savage
Savage
Candace Savage is the author of numerous magazine articles and two dozen book-length works of non-fiction, for both children and adults.  She is especially interested in the Zones of overlap between reportage and poetry and between argument and story.  Her work has been short listed by the National Magazine Awards, the Norma Fleck Award for children’s Nonfiction, and the Science-in-Society Book Awards, among others.

A perennial finalist at the Saskatchewan Book Awards, she won the prize for children’s literature in 2002 with Wizards: An Amazing Journey Through the Last Great Age of Magic and was awarded both the non-fiction prize and book-of-the-year honours for Prairie:A Natural History in 2004.  A prairie person by birth and inclination, she has homes in Eastend and Saskatoon.
