Maggie Siggins
Siggins
Maggie Siggins is an author, journalist and film maker.  She has written ten books including A Canadian Tragedy: Joann and Colin Thatcher, a Story of Love and Hate which won an Arthur Ellis Award and Revenge of the Land which was awarded the Governor General’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction. Both were produced as four-hour mini-series by CBC.

Two other books Riel: A Life of Revolution (which was translated into French) and In Her Own Time won the City of Regina Best Book Award.  Maggie’s latest work, Bitter Embrace: White Society’s Assault on the Woodland Cree, was published in April, 2005.  To gather the material, she lived close to Pelican Narrows Reserve, near Flin Flon, Manitoba for eight months. She has also written and produced some twelve documentaries for Four Square Productions, a company which she and her husband own.
