Morley Thorpe
Thorpe
Morley Thorpe lives on the farm near Spy Hill, Saskatchewan with his wife Shirley and two sons. He has been writing poetry and doing “stand-up” entertaining for a number of years often operating through the eyes of a number of characters such as ‘Cowboy Jake’ and ‘Cousin Farley’.  These characters come complete with a voice and perspective all their own.

Morley has performed across western Canada including “Canada’s Cowboy Festival’ in Calgary and in the United States at the ‘Western Arts Center’ in Cedar City, Utah. His latest project was a writer and cast member of the Langenburg Arts council production of “We Are” a musical theatre presentation highlighting one hundred years of prairie perseverance.  The show was staged to launch the local ‘Community & Friends Foundation’ in support of sport, culture and recreation.  The sold out audience included Her Honour Linda Haverstock, the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.

Having worked for the CBC and the CWB two of our original mothercorps, he has a deep appreciation of the efficient use of our tax dollars.
