 A combination of funding from the Moose Jaw Businessmen’s Club, SaskEnergy, the Moose Jaw Rotary Club, a generous discount from the prairie publisher Coteau Books of Regina, from KidsCan Press of Toronto and from The Oak and Rose Book Shoppe of Moose Jaw enabled the Festival of Words to purchase over 800 books and thus provide reading material to youngsters in day cares and schools. The Books for Kids program is one of a number of Festival of Words initiatives to promote literacy and a love of the written word. Since the inception of the project over 2200 books have been given to children for their own personal libraries.  |
