• Deadline for submissions is September 1st each year for consideration for the Festival the following July.

  • Submissions should include a cover letter with contact information, short biography, sample of your writing (you are welcome to send us books), links to publications and/or reviews, and video (or links to) of your readings/performances.

  • All genres and subjects (including children’s, graphic novels, spoken word, storytelling, etc.) are welcome to submit.

  • Authors from across Canada are included in the line-up each year. International authors that are planning on being in the country are welcome to apply as well.

  • Please indicate what you are asking us to consider you for (i.e. Summer Festival, LitCon, Performers Café, Writers-in-Schools, etc.)

  • In your submission, please indicate whether or not you would like to be considered for the following programming year if you are not invited for the current one. This is especially important if your submission arrives after the September 1st deadline.

  • Publishers, please keep in mind when submitting your authors for consideration that our program choices emphasize diversity and inclusivity.

  • Please note that currently we do not feature self-published authors at our summer Festival, but we do at our spring LitCon event and in our Performers Café series.

  • Due to the volume of requests, only successful candidates will be contacted.

  • Our summer line-up is usually complete by January.
