ACCESSIBILITY

Assistance Around the Festival

The Festival of Words has a dedicated team of staff and volunteers that will be able to assist you with directions. If you have any problems or questions, please let a volunteer know and they will notify staff if they are not able to help you themselves.

Venues

All venues are wheelchair accessible and are located within 5 city blocks of each other.

  • Moose Jaw Cultural Centre: Elevator to second floor. Accessible washrooms are on the second floor. Wheelchair seating by the second-floor entrance to the theatre.

  • Moose Jaw Public Library: Wheelchair accessible washrooms are available on all levels. The side entrance to the Art Museum Theatre is wheelchair accessible and will take you directly to seating in the front row.

  • Mosaic Place: Accessible washrooms are available down the hallway to the curling rink, across from the elevators. Wheelchair seating is available anywhere in the venue.

  • Bobby’s Place: Wheelchair accessible.

  • Cosmos Centre: Wheelchair accessible with accessible washrooms by main entrance.

Parking

There is street parking around all venues during the Festival. Contact us to receive a parking pass from the city for free parking during weekday events. Parking is free regularly after 5PM on weekdays and on weekends.

Live Streams

Due to travel constraints, we understand that everyone is not physically able to travel to the Festival. We try to provide live streams of our major events each year. These are streamed for free through our Facebook Page.

Captioning

We are working with the Saskatchewan Deaf and Hard of Hearing Society (SDHHS) to provide full ASL/Captioning coverage for the entire Festival in future. Due to the large number of events at the Festival, the SDHHS does not have enough interpreters and captionists to cover every event. Please let us know by July 1st if you require ASL or captioning and what events you will be attending.

Public Transit

Visit the City of Moose Jaw page to view the bus schedule and routes. The Paratransit is also available for citizens of Moose Jaw. It must be booked in advance.
