Philipp was born in Germany but grew up in Saskatoon where he ultimately studied veterinary medicine. After graduation he moved to Winnipeg with his classmate and wife, Lorraine. He published his first book, The Accidental Veterinarian, in 2019. It was a bestseller and was translated into five languages. He and Lorraine live in a creaky old house on the river with their kids, cats, and one beautiful but foolish dog.
