Zarqa Nawaz

Zarqa Nawaz is a Regina-based creator, writer, and performer known for bold, character-driven comedy rooted in Muslim life. She is the creator of the CBC hit Little Mosque on the Prairie, now streaming on Netflix, and the creator/producer of ZARQA (CBC Gem). She was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for directing. Zarqa is also the author of Laughing All the Way to the Mosque and Jameela Green Ruins Everything, both shortlisted for the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour. She wrote and will star in the stage comedy Mosque Heist, opening the season this fall at the Globe Theatre in Regina.
